Diabetes Care in the Hospital

These recommendations are based on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Standards of Care in Diabetes – 2026, specifically: American Diabetes Association Professional Practice Committee. These standards provide an evidence-based framework for inpatient diabetes management; however, care should be implemented in accordance with applicable institutional policies, protocols, formulary restrictions, and local standards of practice, with institutional guidelines taking precedence when differences exist.
