Call for Poster Abstracts

Following the excellent and overwhelmingly positive feedback from the format we used at our 2025 KHA Quality Conference, we are once again going to celebrate with LIVE presentations of winning posters selected from all applicants who submit posters for consideration.

The call for abstracts for 2026 has closed. Winners will be notified by February 9, 2026.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Posters may be submitted for any of the following five Quality categories:
    • Infection Prevention/ Sepsis
    • Social Drivers of Health/ Population Health/ Health Equity/ Readmissions
    • Patient Safety / Safety Culture
    • Quality Leadership/ Strategic Development/ AI
    • Mental Health/ Substance Use/ Suicide Prevention
  2. Posters will be scored using a scoring matrix, linked below for each category.
  3. The four posters with the highest scores from each category will be presented live onstage by the submitting hospital team. 15-minute slots will be allotted for each presentation.
  4. Because we appreciate that the immense value of our poster presentations stems from the inspiration that is provided to other Kentucky hospital leaders, 2026 Poster presenters must provide handouts for Conference attendees with a summary of the key points of the project work their poster highlights, as well as direct contact information for any attendees who may wish to discuss the project work further with the submitting hospital leaders.
  5. Judges will then select the single best poster submission from each category (scoring matrix linked here) to be granted the 2026 KHA Best Poster award for that category.
  6. All poster submissions that are not selected for live presentation at the Conference will be asked to share their project in a special KHA Quality Webinar series that will begin following the conclusion of the Quality Conference.

Individuals who are selected to present their posters onstage during the Conference will be given one complimentary Conference registration per presentation. Any additional presenters for the selected posters will need to register and submit payment for the Conference to attend.
