KHA Quality Webinar: Navigating Community Resource Guides and Platforms (January 15, 2026)

Margaret McGladrey, PhD, Assistant Professor, Health Management and Policy for the UK College of Public Health delivered an excellent and very detailed presentation on how to navigate community resource guides and platforms.  Attendees were updated with the latest information on social drivers of health, the core health related social needs, the potential pitfalls of the screening process as well as tips to screen like a pro!  After the update, Dr. McGladrey familiarized attendees with the purpose and navigation of online resource guides such as kynect resources, FindHelpNowKY, United Way 211, and MyKy.info.  To close out the session, attendees were presented with a real-life case study of a family needing mental health services, recovery assistance, and utility assistance and a simulated walk-through of how to utilize the online resource guides to meet the case study’s needs in YOUR local area.
